This morning, embark on a picturesque drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan. En route, pause at the Dochu-La Pass (3,150 m), where 108 chortens stand against the backdrop of the snow-capped Himalayas. Take in the breathtaking views before descending into the lush Punakha Valley.
Upon arrival in Punakha, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel built in 1637.
